Certified Mediator
Badge description
The counsellor followed a basic course on mediation. Although the counsellor did not pass the assessment at the highest level. The counsellor did show profound knowledge and skills. The counsellor is able to advise people on steps of mediation and is able to do (informal) mediations when the conflict is not too complex.
Program content
The mediator followed the basic course on mediation. The basic course (minimum 20 blocks of three hours) has the following content:
- Basics on ADR and specifically mediation
- Rules and regulations (including basic legal aspects)
- Basic procedures
- Ethical codes
- Basic theory on the essence of conflicts
- Balancing power
- Structuring of the process of mediation
- Skills and competences
Assessment
The mediator took part in the international accepted assessment, recognized by IRM. The counsellor showed good skills and knowledge, but did not pass at the highest level. The competences on which the counsellor was tested are:
